Poem for Bo Bice

Bo
What is the purpose
What is the plan
That I should be so drawn
To this special man?
God has a reason
Yet to be seen;
I can speculate and I can dream.
Is it to teach me more love?
Is it to make me reach out?
To show others kindness,
To change my life's route?
Whatever the purpose
Whatever the plan,
Thank you, God, for sending
This gentle-hearted man
Into my life to fill a void
And help me to see
That You love others
And You love me.

Bo Bice & Sugar Money at the Birmingham Concert

"Imagine that your favorite bar band has rented a 10,650-seat amphitheater. You'd be glad to see them, but you wouldn't expect a sell-out crowd, a fancy stage set or the other things that go along with a big-league tour date.

Imagine, too, that said bar band is trying to raise money for a worthy cause. With a charity donation at stake - and such fine intentions behind the show - it would be unwise to nitpick about the professional polish that might be missing...

It was a grassroots deal, organized by Alabama Alive! magazine and Bice's church, New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian in Shelby County. His new label, RCA, wasn't involved. Nor was the "Idol" franchise.

For about 90 minutes, Bice and SugarMoney played to a modestly sized audience of Bo cheerleaders - maybe 3,000 people, at most - that included kids, seniors and a cadre of women down front who appeared so thrilled, they must have been devoted members of his Internet fan base."

I can only imagine as many as possible fans from the Bicesquad sites were in attendance cheering on their bo-loved Bo. I was surprised at a turn out of 3,000, although as I thought a bigger crowd would show; but considering how widespread is Bo's fan base, not everyone who wanted to to attend could, myself in particular.

Such a great endeavor to help others in need; I was also very glad to hear that Bo Bice's wife Caroline accompanied him and appeared with him (and their dogs)! His loyalty to his long-time band Sugar Money is also admirable, but it is loyalty well-placed; the guys in the band are very talented and they all fit well together. That's important when it comes to performing and creating together.

So sad I missed seeing you Bo, and Sugar Money, would have been sweet!

Bayfest: Bo Bice and Sugar Money! Posted by Picasa

BonaFide Bice scores in Big Review from Mischa

Bo Bice and Sugar money as reviewed by Mischa; kudos gal! You have communicated sights and sounds of the Bayfest Bo and Sugar Money performance better than anyone else I've read; some of my favorite parts of Mischa's story:

"I shook his hand and he acknowledged my Much Love T-shirt, giving it a verbal thumbs up. Wish I could remember what he said, but heck if I know. I always wonder how people can have a conversation with him and not remember the details, but it happened to me. Whatever he said, it made me happy." ...

"Even though we were less than 15 feet from the stage, I was watching through binoculars half the time. I was focused in on Bo's face (although it was brought to my attention later that I missed out on other body parts, but I just couldn't think of everything in the moment) and his eyes specifically, after he took off the glasses. His eyes are amazing. I felt like I could read his thoughts. No one can convince me now that he's simply overcome and lost in the music and doesn't know what's happening when the Golden Rock Sex God emerges. I felt I could see it rising in an intentional way from his thoughts through his soul through his eyes and out to the rest of his body. It was powerful. His connection with the audience is innate. He's warm and appreciative." ...

"It was interesting that he left the stage before the encore with "Ladies and gentleman, we are SugarMoney!" and ended the night by saying, "If y'all see Bo Bice and SugarMoney traveling around, come by and check us [not me] out." " ...

"My thought when the concert ended was that SugarMoney was damned good. I was on a definite SugarMoney high. The next day, I tried to assess what I really felt. Though they weren't spot on on every song, I still think they're really very good and that they're good for Bo. They have great chemistry together; he's joyful and free performing with them. I don't know what he'd be like with another backing band, but I don't think S$ brings him down or holds him back. I think Bo probably raises his game with them. I don't think the fact that he's comfortable with them makes him complacent in any way. I think it makes him feel safer to take risks. As I mentioned before, I'm not equipped to judge musicianship, I just know what I like. I thought Kris was excellent on guitar, and it helped to have the keyboardist sitting in. Bo works well the band. He knows how to share the spotlight, but it doesn't take away from him as the center. He doesn't just become part of the band; he still stands out." ...

I have to add this part section in her review featuring Coop, who really is a sweet, kind man;

"On Sunday, Lyn and I saw Coop in the hotel restaurant during lunch. We told him how much we'd enjoyed the show. He said he'd spoken to Bo that morning and that Bo was really pumped and happy with the crowd response. John told us that they'd been unsure how some of the slower songs, like "Sinner in a Sin," would go over and that they were also worried about playing "Freebird." He said that when they play gigs together, they usually play 3 or 4 hours and that at the benefit next week they would be playing just as many songs (I wasn't clear if they'd be the same ones) plus 4 more. He said there would be 3 originals on the new CD (I'm assuming SugarMoney--not just Bo--originals, though he didn't expressly state that) and that the choice of which ones would make it is up to Clive. During our conversation, John was really kind to us, sweet and friendly." ...

Thank you so much Mischa for sharing your review with all the Bo Bice fans. It brings to the forefront qualities Bo Bice just seems to jolt out of you when you see him perform. He is so very special and we are lucky to have found him.

Bo Bice and Sugar Money rock Bayfest!!!

Bo Bice rocked the crowd this weekend at Bayfest!!! He sang roughly 16 songs and the new guitarist for S$, Kris Bell had the crowd rocking! This mixing of songs included originals and classic S$. Would have given about anything to have been there personally; but had family matters to attend...

There is a new Sugar Money Forum and it is up and running, here is the link:
Sugar Money Forum. Now this is not the off of the Sugar Money site; but have seen it, read it, checked it out and these gals/guys are doing a fine job with their forum... If anyone has comments give me an e.mail...log into my profile and it will hook you up to my e.mail address...looking forward to know what your take on the new S$ forum is...the Original S$ forum was my virginal entry into forums and fan sites so would like to find out how it compares to the the other Bicesquad forums out there. Let's talk!

I don't carry one (forum) here - thought about it, but being a little selfish with my Bo Bice; didn't want to share my site with forum type format.

Thank you though to everyone who sends me e.mails with info and videos and sound-bytes; sooo cool and I appreciate all of ya'll!

I haven't been posting as much lately as have had other issues to deal with, but you guys keep sending the news and stuff and will from here on out make sure it gets on this site.

Bo is on his way and he will be doing it all his way in the future; will keep watching it happen for him and his band.

Much Love

Bo Bice CD Release; VH-1

What will end up on the as-yet-untitled album, tentatively set for a November 29 release sounds to be still sort of in the works, and from the sound of some of the interviews the Biceman has given so far, it is sounding like it will be an amazing first debut album! Just look at the lists of collaborating artists Bice has joining him:

Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, (that was a no-brainer!). The producers are Howard Benson (Hoobastank, Papa Roach), Marti Frederiksen (Def Leppard, Aerosmith) and John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Santana). As I have said before in a Bo-delirious state, he will make music history and looking forward to November 29th to hear the beginning.

Hope all fans get to go to Bayfest in
Mobile
, AL this weekend! Gonna be a rockin' party!!! Beach, sun, fun and Bice, how nice!
